Specialty Contact Lenses

Step into a clearer world! We’re here to help you see the best of life!

If regular disposable contact lenses don’t provide the visual clarity you need, specialty contact lenses may be a better option for you. Whether you have a high prescription or the shape of your eye is different, there are other lenses you can try.

Gas Permeable lenses are made of a firmer material than soft lenses. This material is gas permeable in that it better allows oxygen to pass through the lens to the cornea. These lenses are custom made to order and can correct astigmatism better than soft lenses. Because these lenses can help stabilize the shape of the eye, one pair may last longer than one year, so they can be very cost effective.

Hybrid lenses are a gas permeable lens in the center with a soft lens skirt around the outside. This provides the optical clarity of a gas permeable lens with the comfort of a soft lens.

Scleral lenses are large gas permeable lenses. These lenses are comfortable because they do not touch the cornea. They vault over it and land on the sclera (the white part of the eye). These lenses can be used on normal eyes as well as eyes with abnormal corneas and can also be a great treatment option for dry eye.

The SynergEyes Duette family of lenses are unique because they are a hybrid lens. They combine the sharp clarity in vision of a gas permeable lens with the comfort of a soft lens. They are rotationally independent, meaning they will not blur your vision if the lens moves. They have built in UV protection and provide a high level of oxygen to the cornea.

  • UltraHealth is the only keratoconus hybrid contact lens with highly breathable, healthy materials and an advanced lens design especially suited for patients with keratoconus and other corneal irregularities.
  • The rigid lens center optimizes vision, while the soft skirt centers the lens over the cornea, providing enhanced clarity and longer lasting comfort.
  • Includes a UVA & UVB blocker.

Rose K lenses for the treatment of Keratoconus

Rose K lenses, unlike traditional contact lenses, have the complex geometry closely mimicking the cone-like shape of the cornea for every stage of the condition, into every lens. The result is a more comfortable fitting lens for patients and better sight (visual acuity).

The ROSE K lens has a number of features that make it ideal for keratoconus:

  1. Its complex geometry can be customized to suit each eye and can correct all of the myopia and astigmatism associated with keratoconus.
  2. They are easy to insert, remove, and clean.
  3. They provide excellent health to the eye, because they allow the cornea to “breathe” oxygen directly through the lens.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral contact lenses are large gas permeable lenses that can give better visual clarity than glasses for some patients. Ideal for patients with abnormal corneas from prior surgeries such as RK or LASIK, corneal disorders such as keratoconus, and can even help treat dry eye. These lenses are more comfortable that rigid gas permeable lenses for most patients.

The Custom Stable is a game changer for many who struggle with their vision because it changes their lives. Blurry, imperfect vision and constant itching and redness become a thing of the past with the Custom Stable. They provide all day comfort, hydration, and rotational symmetry keeps focus crisp at all times while minimal vertical movement delivers ideal comfort.

The SynergEyes VS™ lens is an innovative scleral lens designed to accommodate a wide variety of corneal conditions. The lens was designed using the latest research on the shape of the eye. Available in single vision and multifocal designs

The Zenlens by Bausch & Lomb, is designed to fit a variety of different corneal shapes. It offers a SmartCurve technology that allows easier customization of the lens. Bi-Elevation options help the lens to land evenly on the sclera to help reduce decentration and fogging issues. Also available with multifocal optics.

WAVE Contact Lens System is a custom contact lens software platform for designing and fitting Scleral, Ortho-K and GP contact lenses.

Lenses Designed for Your Child’s Eyes

This gentle, non-surgical treatment uses specially-designed contact lenses that reduce the effect of myopia with continuous overnight wear. Similar to a custom dental retainer from an orthodontist, worn overnight to correct the alignment of teeth, Euclid lenses are made specifically for your child’s unique eyes, and they work comfortably to reshape the cornea while they sleep.

Once these overnight corneal reshaping lenses are removed in the morning, your child’s eyes naturally maintain the adjusted shape, so your child has clear vision all day, without the need for daytime corrective lenses or glasses. To maintain the effect of myopia reduction, overnight lens wear must be continued as prescribed by your doctor.
